John helped found JL Schwieters in 1980. He is currently the President/Owner. It was through his vision and his staff that we were able to integrate the NexSTEP System™ into the construction process. Our goal is to improve and implement the products used in the framing process, which in turn provides our customer, the homeowner, with long lasting value.

Leslie Grays - Office Manager |

Leslie joined JL Schwieters in 1989. She joined to be the office support and is currently our Office Manager. After four years of experience in the trade, she decided to pursue a rapid growing and successful company that lead to more opportunities. Leslie enjoys spending time outdoors and with friends.

Ryan Spanier - Personnel Director |

Ryan joined JL Schwieters in 1999. He is currently the Personnel Director. Ryan worked for Honeywell in the HR Dept. after graduating from St. John’s University. Kyle Shufelt - Safety Director |

Kyle joined JL Schwieters in 1993 as a carpenter after completing the Carpentry Program at Dakota County Technical College. While working for JL Schwieters, Kyle attended college and earned his Advanced Safety Certificate from The National Safety Council in 1998. He is acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Labor as an OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer. Kyle continues to attend classes at the MN Safety Council. Kyle says, "I enjoy working for a company that has such a strong commitment to Safety and Health."

Nathan Steere - Purchasing and Estimating Director |

Nathan joined JL Schwieters In 1995 as a carpenter. He worked his way up to a field manager and is now our Purchasing Manager and Head Estimator. Nathan is a graduate from South Dakota State University with degrees in Business Management and Commercial Economics. He continued his education in Construction Management.

Jerry joined JL Schwieters in 2002 to be an estimator. He attended school at Dunwoody for Architectural and Estimating. Jerry enjoys fishing , hunting, and softball.

Adam Schulte - Estimator |

Adam became an estimator for JL Schwieters in 2004 after receiving a Construction Management degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. In his free time, Adam enjoys many activities such as rock climbing, biking, kayaking, hanging out at home, and dining out. Adam recently married and he and his wife Nichole are enjoying there new life together in St. Paul.

Andy attended school at Hennepin Technical College and received a degree in carpentry. Andy enjoys hunting and camping and most of all, time spent with his son Colby and his activities with school and sports.

Jake joined JL Schwieters in 2000. He started as a carpenter/CNC Programmer in our manufacturing shop, worked his way up to running that shop and is currently part of the Design Team. Jake attended machine schooling specializing in the CNC Programming at WITC in Wisconsin.

Randy Swanson - Lumber Sales |

Randy's work experience includes 15 years as a framimg contractor and 5 years in Construction Management for a panelized housing company. He also received his certification for property management from Cornell University in 2003. Randy joined JL Schwieters in 1997 as an area manager. He is currently involved in generating new customer lumber sales from our newly opened lumber yard. Randy enjoys motorcycling, sailing, snowboarding and grandchildren, not necessarily in that order.
