Market & Johnson is a commercial general contractor with offices in Stillwater, MN, Eau Claire, WI, and La Crosse, WI -- a company that builds water treatment facilities, fire stations, concession stands, and commercial remodels and additions across a wide footprint in the upper Midwest.

Our sales team had previously tried to get on Market & Johnson's bid list at a prior company and never got traction. After joining JL Schwieters, we reached back out -- and this time it worked. We connected with a couple of their project managers, got onto their bid list, and earned our first projects from there.

For a commercial GC managing complex projects with long approval chains -- where drawings and layouts go through multiple reviewers before they're finalized -- knowing they can pick up the phone and talk directly to the people making decisions at their truss supplier matters. Everything at JL Schwieters is in-house: engineering, manufacturing, stamped seals, designer coordination. There is no middleman to slow things down or drop the ball when a project timeline gets complicated.

Commercial projects come with real-world constraints that standard truss orders cannot always accommodate. Market & Johnson's work has included projects pushed back by unexpected site conditions -- including, literally, a turtle migration delaying one project. That kind of schedule uncertainty requires a supplier who can adapt, hold engineering work until approvals clear, and re-sequence delivery without losing the project.
